This is a replay of our Facebook livestream cookie class

Purchasing this product grants you lifetime access to the tutorial video and associated content.

Please note:  This is NOT a beginning baking or cookie 101 class. You should have some experience with cookies and royal icing before participating (ie. understanding the difference between royal icing consistencies).  No fondant experience is necessary.

Overview

In this 2 hour mixed-media class, I’ll be teaching my techniques for creating 3D dimension using a combination of royal icing and fondant.  We’ll also be doing using food color gels (or powdered colors) to create a juicy, shiny effect on these puffy lips and to make our rose details POP.  This class will include a prep video to ensure cookies are ready-to-go once the live tutorial begins.  Other info being taught includes:

  • Working from inspiration
  • My favorite color brands and the pros and cons of each
  • Paintbrush overview and my “lazy painter” guide to painting
  • Planning your workflow for mixed-media designs
  • A quick overview of fondant for cookie-decorating
  • Creating texture on fondant
  • Using paint to emphasize contrast
  • Dimensional piping
  • Finishing touches and details to make your work pop
